Temperature dependence of vibrational energy transfer efficiency in high temperature gas systems is described. The Variable Encounter Method is applied to the study of the transient region in vibrational accommodation of cyclobutane at high temperature surfaces. Collision efficiency declines with rise of temperature. Surface collisions are more efficient than binary gas phase encounters. Author
