This final ARO report summarizes our results on electron collision with atmospheric gases and hydrocarbon molecules. Absolute cross sections for vibrational excitation, dissociative attachment and associative detachment were determined in 0-20 eV. The magnitudes and behavior of these processes were predominated by resonances. Recently we also developed two methods for studying inelastic cross sections at near thermal energies and negative ion formation from excited molecules. Perspectives of our past research and our outlook toward the future are presented. Author
