A knowledge of the infrared celestial background is of interest to the defense community for problems in satellite navigation and remote sensing. In addition, such knowledge has scientific value for studies of stellar evolution and galactic structure. Using an improved galactic model in our computer code CELES, we predict the contribution to the 2.2-micron background due to various classes of celestial objects. Author
