Abstract:

In this work we investigate numerically the problem of the source excitation of an open, parallel-plate waveguide. The following assumptions are made for the source current 1 the current is oriented in the y-direction, 2 it is located at x 0, 3 there is no variation in the y-direction, and 4 the current has exp i beta z behavior along the longitudinal z-direction. We provide graphical output for the EM-field components as functions of a longitudinal propagation constant and transverse coordinates and then discuss these results. Author
