Abstract:

A ground motion calculation for the Baneberry nuclear event is described here. A scenario is presented which indicates that the containment failure was due to the lack of a mystical, magical membrane around the Baneberry cavity. This membrane failed to form due to the negligible yield strength of the working point material which was over 50 montmorillonite clay. Author
