Abstract:
This report begins with a discussion of a general mathematical framework for the analysis of microstrip antennas. A discussion is then presented of methods based on the finite elements approach along with key aspects of a computer code developed along these lines. Next, a classical modal expansion method is presented and applied to both rectangular and circular patches. Finally, the finite-elements approach is used to solve for the magnetic currents on the radiating walls of a five-sided patch which can produce circular polarization. Author
