Abstract:
A detailed formulation of the equations of motion of a deformable aircraft is given. The development is from Lagranges equations for an inertial frame, and is made in terms of the position, orientation, force and inertia properties of narrow strips of the aircraft which lie fore and aft in the unperturbed state. The latter is one of constant linear velocity and zero angular velocity. Particular account is taken of the deformation and loading in the unperturbed state. Author
