Analyses of the January 1975 through June 1977 accessions resulted in the following conclusions. a The Air Force continues to be an equal opportunity employer, enlisting Blacks at a proportion comparable to the percentage they represent in the population-at-large. b Regardless of sex or racialethnic group, the majority of Air Force enlistees are 17 to 20 years old and offer relatively less skill to the labor market and experience a high unemployment rate than do older, more experienced workers. c The aptitude potential of men and women has risen consistently from 1975 to 1977, and there has been an increase in the numbers of men and women who qualify for possible career fields at the upper aptitude index levels. d Educational levels indicate a moderate gain in the percentage of accessions having completed at least a high school education. e Men and women from US Enlistment Regions 4 and 5 Middle and Far West demonstrate higher Mechanical and Electronics aptitudes, and those from Region 1 Northeast generally show higher General and Administrative aptitudes.
