The Regression Simulation of Turbine Engine Performance RSTEP Task IV program was an analytical study to identify and evaluate approaches to improve the accuracy of regression surfaces for use in TEVCSARES procedures. The Central Composite Design CCD data selection pattern was studied and found to be a flexible, accurate, and economical alternative to the orthogonal Latin Square design selector. The impact of the number of independent variables and the number of data points was systematically investigated. Two methodologies which provided significant improvement in the accuracy of the regression surfaces were also identified.
