This program was a preliminary design study to evaluate the application of a composite main rotor blade to the Model OH-58CA helicopter. The first phase of the study was a trade-off analysis in which a basic concept was selected that utilized a spar made of filament-wound glassepoxy rovings looped around the main retention bold hole bushing. The second phase of the program consisted of a preliminary design of the selected concept and its comparison to the existing standard metal blade. Author, modified-PL.
