Parametric Analysis of Stereometric Tracker for Use in Tactical Aircraft.

The stereometric range finding technique is used as the basis of an airborne passive tracker. An analysis of the method reveals that angular accuracy is the most critical element in this technique. Range accuracy can be improved by increasing baseline separation. However, the vibration environment of the aircraft becomes worse as the baseline is increased. The results of this investigation indicate that these vibrations counter any gain in resolution. The investigation was hindered by a lack of vibrational data, especially angular vibration data.
