Abstract:

This report summarizes the work carried out from 1 July 1975 to September 1978 on an AFGL project directed towards the study of the earths gravity field. Each report is described and put in context with the total research effort. The main areas described in the report relate to the theory and application of least squares collocation the theory and development of covariance functions the theory and results from using airborne gradiometry and the use of satellite to satellite tracking data for the recovery of anomalies on the surface of the earth.
