Abstract:

This report describes similarities and differences between U.S. and British military medicine, with emphasis on preventive medicine. British National Health Service has apparently had remarkably little effect on the mission, organization, and practice of military medicine in the United Kingdom. The major problem for the British military medical services is identical to that for the US recruitment and retention of physicians.
