Abstract:

Phase-Space finite elements are applied to the static monoenergetic neutron transport equation in two-dimensional cylindrical geometry by computer subroutines which collectively assemble the global phase-space matrix for solution. The technique uses a variational formulation based on the second-order self-adjoint form of the transport equation within which the dependent variable approximated by the finite elements is the even-parity component of the angular flux.
