Abstract:
Presented is a trade-off methodology for quantitatively optimizing the nuclear hardening of Army tactical systems based on operational impact and life-cycle cost. Included is a proposed set of procedures and analyses which provide a systematic approach for ensuring nuclear hardening predicated upon mission-related survivability criteria and relative military worth. The methodology closely parallels current COEA designs and, as such, is applicable as a comprehensive, readily-adaptable, Army-wide program.
