Abstract:

The purpose of this report is to help the optical designer with little or no knowledge of programming to make efficient use of this powerful designing tool. To this end, a flow chart, an outline of capabilities and options open to the user, and instructions for implementation of the options are included. In addition, definitions of the aberrations used in the program and a discussion of various methods of calculation appear within the text. A sample problem is run and the program output is interpreted, and finally a troubleshooting section explaining some common error statements is included. Author
