Abstract:
A MICRO-COBOL interpretive compiler has been implemented on an 8080 micro-computer based system running under CPM. The implementation is a subset of ADPESO standard HYPO-COBOL in that the interprogram communication module has not been included. HYPO-COBOL provides nucleus level constructs and file options from the ANSII COBOL package along with the PERFORM UNTIL construct from a higher level to give increased structural control. MICRO-COBOL can be executed on an 8080 or Z-80 micro-computer system with 16K of memory. Although largely completed and tested, all features are not implemented. File IO features have not been tested and the numeric edit instruction has not been implemented in the interpreter. Author
