This paper develops a decision theoretic framework for one period or fight-to-the-finish, stochastic Lanchester models. Costs are assigned to the employment and destruction of friendly forces and rewards granted for victory. Solutions for certain one period problems are obtained approximately by using the standard central limit theorem or by making use of certain martingale central limit theorems.
