The three important kernels of Physical Geodesy Stokes, Poissons, and the Coating kernel are first considered in their traditional forms closed-form analytic and Legendre polynomial expansion and then given in new forms expansions in powers of the altitude divided by the earths radius. Useful results concerning these expansions are then given and their domain of applicability is determined. Finally, the accuracy and implementation of these low-altitude expansions is discussed.
