The reaction air of a fuelair solid polymer electrolyte SPE fuel cell was water saturated utilizing excess moisture in the fuel by diffusion thru an uncatalized portion of the SPE. This device eliminated the need for external humidification controls. Fuelair current densities up to 750 masq cm were demonstrated. Author
