Abstract:

This report describes the status and capabilities of the Thermal Nuclear Flash Test Facility which is used for investigating the effects of thermal radiation on materials. The Facility consists of several quartz lamp banks for simulating thermal radiation, a wind tunnel for simulating aerodynamic loads, and a mechanical loading device for simulating tension and binding loads, and associated instrumentation.
