Abstract:

A prototype Shield Group 5 Suppressive Shield of modular, prefabricated construction suitable for application to illuminant, propellant and pyrotechnics production lines was used. The testing was to evaluate the performance of plastic and steel liners and to increase the safety certifiable liners for the Group 5SS to 22.7 kg of illuminant, 270 kg of propellant and 1.1 kg of high explosive.
