The objective of this thesis is to present a detailed study of the support which is included in the acquisition process of foreign military sale programs. Thus, a set of definitions and concepts are developed in this study whereby this support can be identified, problems identified and suggested solutions developed. These concepts are then applied to the F-5 program in general as well as specific support efforts within this program so that support tasks can be categorized in a meaningful manner. Additionally, selected problems such as support cost allocation problems, the matching of support benefits with costs and problems associated with the funding of the support efforts are presented.
