Abstract:
This two volume report documents an investigation into several aspects of the validity of the random-process approach. Among the opics considered are the basic statistical properties of acoustic signal and noise fluctuations the ability of the random-process models to properly simulate the important properties of the acoustic variables he ability of the stochastic models to accurately predict measures of system effectiveness and the choice of a stochastic model and estimation of its inputs, for a particular scenario. Volume I summarizes the modeling procedure and gives the results and conclusions of the comparison of the stochastic process results with the acoustic data. Author
