Abstract:
The system was flown to Shiraz in an FAA Boeing 727 testbed aircraft and installed on Runway 29R. Data acquisition and operational demonstration flights were flown with the FAA B-727 aircraft over the period March 3-8, 1978. During the flights, a radio telemetry theodolite was used for aicraft space-position data. Flight profiles included straight-in approaches at various elevation angles, level runs at 2000 feet altitude on centerline, and or - 10-degree offsets, or - 5-degree offsets, and 5-nautical mile partial orbits at 1500-feet altitude. Results of the flight tests indicate that the performance of the TRSB Small Community System was within the design requirements.
