Abstract:

The primary objective of this study was to provide a comprehensive survey of fully electronic telephone switching equipment which will be available as proven systems in the early 1980s. The equipment was to be evaluated against the general specifications of DOD general and special purpose tactical and nontactical, fixed and transportable switching requirements. The limitations of such equipment to meet these requirements, and the indication of the difficulty and likely delays in modifying the equipment to meet DOD requirements are to be defined.
