Abstract:

The deterministic Duane Model as well as several stochastic models for reliability growth are studied. Graphical and quantitative techniques for assessing the performance of these models are introduced and are illustrated on a set of data. A small-scale simulation is carried out in which the effect of two factors the number of failure modes and the range of failure intensities are investigated. Some practical conclusions are drawn and the possibility of employing doubly stochastic Poisson Processes is discussed. Author
