Thermal Considerations in the Design of Diver's Suits
NAVAL COASTAL SYSTEMS LAB PANAMA CITY FL
Pagination or Media Count:
The basic components of heat loss from passive wet and dry suits are investigated. Changes in the thermal effectiveness of these components are shown with variations in the divers environment. Critical design features are identified and their effects on suit insulation capabilities observed with environmental variations. An analytical model is developed to describe the thermal performance of divers garments. Predictions are made for the thermal behavior of sample suit designs and compared with experimental values.
