Accurate and approximate quantum dynamical calculations on elementary chemical reactions of importance for the fundamental aspects of chemical dynamics and for advanced technologies of interest to the US Air Force, such as high energy chemical lasers, plume technology, and the chemical effects of high energy radiation, were performed. These included calculations of three-atom exchange reactions, breakup collisions, three-body recombinations, vibrational quenching by reaction, resonances, and electronic branching ratios. The aim of these calculations was to develop an understanding of these processes and to develop benchmark data against which approximate methods could be tested. Author
