The purpose of this investigation was to empirically demonstrate and evaluate a brassboard for computerized collective training for teams COLT2. The four tasks underlying the demonstrationevaluation were 1 conduct a state- of-the-art assessment of instructional strategies appropriate for COLT2, 2 derive a conceptual framework for COLT2 instructional strategies, 3 conduct a team jobtask and training analysis for COLT2 on the Army computerized artillery fire control system TACFIRE, and 4 develop TACFIRE team training scenarios for the purpose of instructional strategy assessment. The procedures included design and implementation of a team ISD model, via which sample training materials were developed. The materials were adapted to the team training version of the PLANIT CAI system. The COLT2 brassboard was demonstrated at the US Army Research Institute for the Behavioral and Social Sciences, Arlington, VA. The results of the developmental aspects of the project indicate that many of the components of the team ISD approach that were designed for this effort would adequately meet the criteria for a generic team ISD model.
