Abstract:

At the beginning of a limited war the agressor has the advantages of surprise and force superiority. The survival of an attacked country depends upon its immediate and sustained response. When a friendly country is invaded, the United States, in its efforts to contain the encroachment of Communism is invariably faced with two questions 1 How much force is required to stop the aggressor and 2 How soon is that force needed. It is the purpose of this document to show a method by which these questions may be answered.
