Temperature, salinity, sound speed, gradient currents and energy distribution of two Gulf Stream eddies are described. The eddies are different in rotation and size, but are similar in energy distribution and ratio of kinetic to potential energy. This ratio is equal to the eddy number and Rossby number. Author
