Abstract:

The Report describes measurements of the extra attenuation of UHF satellite signals due to siting of the receiver equipment within woods in Southern England. The results are summarized as probability distributions. At 254 MHZ the average loss was 8 dB. The effects due to undergrowth and soil surface were minimal. Author
