Miranda was a low-orbit technology satellite carrying a number of experimental packages. In order to realise the planned experimental objectives it was necessary to employ a sophisticated real-time control system requiring inputs that could only be determined by independent operational-support software. The analysis of the experimental data also called for a considerable amount of data processing software, as did the general housekeeping procedures. A comprehensive software system was developed to cover these requirements, so that a thorough appreciation was needed of all software system interfaces. This report defines the satellite, operational, computer-system and experimental interfaces with which the software had to be compatible. Author
