A new theory will be presented in which analogy is viewed as a process that writes expert problem-solving programs. Algorithms will be presented which are used in this theory and will illustrate the operation of these algorithms in six examples. In this theory, the analogy process reasons between different problem worlds. Four different pairs of problem worlds will be used in these examples with special attention given to geometry world plane and solid geometry. Theoretical limitations and psychological validity are discussed. Author
