Abstract:
A computer program to dynamically schedule satellite observations has been installed and tested. The principle of the program is to apply weighting factors for each of several pertinent criteria to the angular distance between the current telescope position and the current predicted position of each satellite in a predefined list. Initial tests showed favorable results with few large displacements of the telescope. The program executes in 5-7 seconds of shared real time for a typical mix of about one hundred satellites. Author
