This Volume II presents an analysis of the problems and near-term solutions related to Alaskas Air Navigation System. The needs of the air taxi operators and major intra-state scheduled air carriers are considered based on such figures of merit as enroute navigation gaps, traffic volume, landing probabilities and candidate navigation system characteristics. The study concludes that 6 VORDMEs and 6 NDBDMEs would be adequate to satisfy most of Alaskas near-term enroute and terminal air navigation requirements, respectively. Recommended implementation sequences are provided for each combination of candidate NAVAID NDB, NDBDME, VOR, VORDME and TACAN and application enroute, approach and dual--enrouteapproach. Author
