This appendix contains the results of an economic base study of the Pascagoula River Basin. The studys purpose was to project the economic growth of the basin to 1965, 1980 and 2015 for guidance in the preparation of a plan of development for the water and related land resources of the basin and for use in the evaluation of benefits that would accrue from such development. The need for water and related land resource development is dependent upon the size of the population of the basin and the economic activity in which the population is engaged. Major parameters of the general economic activity included in this economic base study are population, households, labor force, employment and personal income. The agricultural economy of the basin is broken down into agricultural land resource base, farm characteristics and types, agricultural production, forest production and cash receipts from farm marketings.
