Abstract:

A technique is developed for the use of the barnacle larva Balanus amphitrite as a bioassay organism. Because of its availability, ease of handling, sensitivity, and response, the barnacle larvae are ideal organisms for the determination of the LC50 lethal concentration to 50 of the test population.
