Columbia-North Pacific Region Comprehensive Framework Study of Water and Related Lands. Appendix XII. Water Quality and Pollution Control,
PACIFIC NORTHWEST RIVER BASINS COMMISSION VANCOUVER WASH
Pagination or Media Count:
The purpose of this appendix is to present the current status of water quality and pollution control in the Pacific Northwest to project future water quality management needs and to discuss the means to satisfy those needs. Continuing changes in pollution sources and water quality make it impossible to publish a report with the up-to-date information therefore, it was necessary to establish a base year for the data. The base year of 1965 was used for waste discharge inventories and population discussions. Other sections of the report were updated to 1968 where possible. Due to the necessity for establishing a base year, there are some instances where the dates quoted for implementation of pollution control measures have already passed. Implementation plans have been considered in all projections.
