This report gives results of a theoretical study of a new small waterplane area hull, called MONOFORM. The hull is composed of a single cylindrical underwater hull, four V-shaped struts, and a large above water platform. The theoretical results indicate that the MONOFORM is more stable, has less wetted surface, and is structurally more sound than a comparable SSS-SWATH hull. Seakeeping characteristics were not evaluated. A need for further study, including model tests, is indicated.
