Abstract:

Hydrogen gas clearance and saturation in the brain were monitored in 22 human subjects with chronically implanted electrodes of diagnostic purposes. The half time for clearancesaturation in the human brain seems to vary between 12 and 30 Minutes in gray matter and between 6 and 14 minutes in white matter. Inhalation of 8 CO2 with the breathing mixture drastically reduced the half-time but only in some areas of the brain. Author
