The PURVIS II Sea Trials were performed during June and July, 1966, as part of the CP ConformalPlanar Array Sonar Development Program, under the direction of the U.S. Navy, Bureau of Ships. The purpose of this report is to provide a description of the PURVIS II CP Program equipment configuration and to present some of the preliminary acoustic data from the PURVIS II tests. A final report will be issued later containing computed parameters such as normalized cross-correlations and normalized cross-spectral densities amplitude and phase for selected hydrophone pairs during passive and transmission tests, noise spectra as a function of ships speed, hydrophone size and location, strut-hydrophone transmission loss data, etc.
