This report presents interim criteria for locating rotary-wing aircraft traffic patterns and ingress and egress corridors into an airfieldheliport to avoid conflict with noise-sensitive land uses, and provides criteria for planners to site noise-sensitive land uses with respect to the established airfieldheliport and established flight corridors. These interim criteria are required because the exact Air Force techinique for predicting fixed-wing aircraft noise cannot currently be used due to the upredictability of helicopter flight patterns these criteria are the basis for interim procedures established in a companion report, User Manual Interim Procedure for Planning Rotary-Wing Aircraft Traffic Patterns and Siting Noise-Sensitive Land Uses Construction Engineering Research Laboratory Interim Report N-10, 1976.
