Abstract:

This paper presents results of applying the runs up and down test, the chi-square goodness-of-fit test and the serial test to streams of pseudorandom numbers generated by the pseudorandom number generators implemented in the IBM version of SIMSCRIPT II.5, in SIMPL1 and using their default seeds. Although this limited testing prevents general conclusions, the results presented here do identify several areas of concern.
