Abstract:

Theoretical product array gains were calculated and plotted for a nonuniformly spaced array of twenty-five side-terminated vertical half-rhombics. The HF radar array, located at the NRLITSNOAA San Clemente Island, is being used as both a ground-wave and sky-wave Doppler radar for sea scatter measurements. The antenna operates at a frequency range of 2-30 MHz and is capable of beam steering over a 40 degree sector in steps the size of the resolution cell 2 deg for a total of 20 beam positions. Author
