This study was undertaken to use reflective photoelasticity and other measuring techniques to investigate the long term behavior of concrete under uniaxial compressive incremental sustained load in relation to moisture movement and microcracking. Special attention has been given to the behavior of the aggregate and matrix phases and their interactions under incremental sustained load.
