The Strategic Air Command conducted a test to determine the feasibility of reducing the size of the KC-135 crew complement while maintaining mission effectiveness. This test investigated the possibility of using a three man crew pilot, copilot, and boom operator with the copilot assuming the navigation duties with the aid of a dual Inertial Navigation System INS. The exercise term assigned the test was GIANT CHANGE.
