Abstract:

A majority of military optical systems operate in the atmoshphere and their performance is often degraded by weather. For several decades researchers have studied in-depth the performance limitations imposed by the atmosphere and devised techniques to get around these problems. The purpose of this symposium was to bring together and update our understanding of atmospheric optical propagation, present a comprehensive review of the state-of-the-art, and provide interaction among the key researchers in the NATO community.
