Abstract:
This report reviews the research accomplished in two sections. The first describes existing theories for predicting wall interference effects in wind tunnels with ventilated test sections to demonstrate that the existing knowledge of the wall boundary conditions precludes the application of these theories. Experimental data and theory are presented to criterize the accepted wall boundary condition for a porous wall. The second section summarizes some experimental research on transonic shock wave-turbulent boundary layer interactions and provides references to the results that have been documented.
